Description

The Flanvorne is a smart LED flush ceiling light in black. It is a long, slim bar held close to the ceiling by a compact central mount, with a white plastic diffuser running the full length of its underside. It is 122cm long, 5.5cm wide and 11cm high, and the body is made from aluminium and steel. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 35W and giving 3,960lm, so there is no separate bulb to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

At 122cm, it suits a hallway, a kitchen, a home office or a long living room, where a bar of light follows the shape of the space. With 3,960lm it gives generous working light. Because it is dimmable and controlled by app, you can take it down to a soft glow for the evening. The colour temperature adjusts from a warm 2700K to a cool 6500K, so the same light works for cooking or reading in daylight hours and for relaxing at night. Colour changing (RGB) adds a wash of colour whenever you want a different mood.

There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall, and the app then handles brightness, colour temperature and colour. It also works with a remote control, sold separately, if you would rather not reach for your phone. We like how the black body and white diffuser draw a clean, graphic line across the ceiling that sits comfortably in a modern room. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, carries an F energy class and weighs 1.879KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download.
