Description

The Flairix-2 is a 100mm square recessed downlight moulded from white plaster, designed to integrate flush into plasterboard or gypsum ceilings. The fixture accepts a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) and can be paired with dimmable GU10 LED bulbs when used with a compatible dimmer switch. The white plaster frame is paintable, allowing it to be finished in the same colour as the surrounding ceiling for a fully concealed appearance.

Designed for residential and light commercial interiors including living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, hallways and office spaces, the Flairix-2 provides focused downward task lighting or general room illumination depending on the bulb choice. The 100mm square aperture and 27mm installation depth suit standard UK plasterboard ceiling constructions. The recessed design keeps the light source above the ceiling plane, reducing glare and giving a clean architectural finish.

The plaster construction allows the downlight to be installed in the same plane as the ceiling material, with only the 100mm square aperture visible once fitted. This differs from metal or plastic downlights that typically sit slightly proud of the ceiling surface. The IP20 rating makes the Flairix-2 suitable for dry indoor locations; it is not rated for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use. The fixture carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty from Ideal Lux.

Is the Flairix-2 dimmable?

The fixture itself is compatible with dimming when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific GU10 bulb model chosen, so select a bulb marked as dimmable and check it against your existing dimmer.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Flairix-2 takes a single GU10 bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in 3000K or 4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is preferred.

Can the plaster frame be painted?

Yes. The white plaster frame is paintable, allowing it to be finished in the same colour as the surrounding ceiling. This makes the downlight nearly invisible when not in use, with only the 100mm square aperture visible.
