The Flairix is a 120mm round recessed downlight moulded from white gypsum plaster, designed to sit flush with ceiling plasterboard or drywall and accept a single GU10 bulb (sold separately). The fitting recesses into a 60mm ceiling void and presents a clean circular aperture with the lamp positioned at the centre, providing downward task or ambient light depending on the bulb chosen.

Designed for residential ceilings with accessible voids, the Flairix suits hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and home offices where recessed lighting is preferred over surface-mounted or pendant fittings. The gypsum construction can be painted over after installation to match the ceiling finish, making the downlight nearly invisible when the lamp is off. Multiple Flairix downlights can be spaced across a ceiling to provide even illumination without visible cable runs or surface hardware.

The 120mm diameter aperture provides a compact footprint suitable for standard 600mm joist spacing, and the 60mm recess depth fits most modern ceiling constructions without fouling insulation. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 LED bulb and trailing-edge dimmer, allowing brightness to be adjusted from full task lighting down to low ambient levels. The white gypsum finish integrates with white or off-white ceiling paint and the IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations away from direct water contact.

The Flairix takes a standard GU10 mains-voltage bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a GU10 LED between 4-7W and 3000K-4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is preferred. The fitting is dimmable when used with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer.

What ceiling depth is required?

The fitting requires a minimum 60mm ceiling void depth to recess fully. The aperture diameter is 120mm, so the cut-out in the plasterboard or drywall needs to accommodate this size plus the fixing clips that secure the downlight from behind.

Can the gypsum be painted?

Yes. The white gypsum plaster can be painted with standard ceiling paint after installation to match the surrounding ceiling finish. This allows the downlight to blend seamlessly into white or off-white ceilings.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations away from direct water contact. Bathrooms and other wet or damp areas require downlights with a minimum IP44 or IP65 rating depending on the zone.
