Description

This polystone elephant figurine is a little family in three pieces: two grown elephants and a calf that fit snugly together into one shape, like a puzzle. The tallest raises its trunk high, the second reaches its trunk across to the first, and the calf tucks in beneath them at the front. Every piece is etched with fine lines, little circles and draped patterns, and the whole family is finished in off white with a scratched, whitewashed texture that softens the detail. Fitted together, the figurine stands 14cm high, 16.5cm across and 3.5cm deep.

It sits happily on a mantelpiece, a bookshelf, a windowsill or a bedside table, and at just 3.5cm deep it fits a narrow ledge where a bulkier ornament would crowd the space. The neutral off white suits plain modern rooms as well as warmer traditional ones, and looks at home beside pale wood, linen and green plants. Fitted together, the family reads as one solid piece; pulled apart, the three elephants stand on their own in a loose group, facing one another, so you can change the arrangement whenever you like.
