Fish Glass Plate with Textured Scale Pattern 25cm - Clear

This fish glass plate brings a little seaside charm to the home, shaped from head to tail like a fish laid flat. A textured pattern of overlapping scales runs down its centre, with fine lines tracing the fins and a small round eye near the head. At one end the tail splits into two softly curved fins, and a gently raised rim runs all the way round the edge. It measures 25cm long, 10cm wide and 2.5cm deep, a slim size that sits neatly where a round plate would take up too much room. The shiny clear glass catches the light, so the scales show up clearly on any surface.

We like it anywhere a long, narrow shape is welcome: down the middle of a dining table, on a kitchen windowsill or along a sideboard. In a bathroom it makes a pretty tray for bars of soap, and on a dressing table it keeps rings, earrings and hair clips together. In a hallway it gives keys and loose change a home by the door. Coastal and seaside rooms suit it especially well, and the clear glass sits happily with white, wood, grey and blue schemes alike, picking up the colours around it rather than competing with them.

The plate is made of glass with a shiny finish, and at just 2.5cm deep it keeps a low, neat profile on any surface. As with any glass piece, handle it with care and set it down somewhere flat and steady. To keep it bright, wipe it with a damp cloth, then dry it with a soft dry cloth to avoid water marks and bring back the shine on the textured scales. Lay it beside a jug of garden flowers and a few shells for a relaxed coastal table, or wrap it in tissue as a thoughtful present for anyone who loves the sea.
