Description

The Firenze is a traditional floor lamp built around a cream-white resin column with decorative gold accents at the capital, mid-column and base, topped with a white fabric pleated shade. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and stands at approximately 1.5m in height with a 420mm diameter shade.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners where ambient light is preferred over direct task lighting, the Firenze provides soft diffused light through the fabric shade. The resin base includes four feet for stability on carpets and hard floors, and the column's classical detailing gives the lamp a formal presence suited to traditional and transitional interiors.

The white fabric shade diffuses light evenly in all directions, avoiding harsh shadows or bright spots. The gold accents on the resin base pick up warm tones from incandescent or warm-white LED bulbs, creating a cohesive look when the lamp is lit. The IP20 rating limits the Firenze to dry indoor environments only.

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W or a 40-60W incandescent-equivalent for ambient room lighting.

Is it suitable for reading?

The Firenze provides ambient light rather than focused task light. For reading, position the lamp beside a chair so the shade sits at shoulder height or slightly above, and use a brighter bulb (10W LED or equivalent) to increase light output.

Can the lamp be used with a dimmer switch?

The lamp itself is not dimmable. However, if you fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and install a compatible dimmer on the wall circuit, you can control the brightness. Check bulb and dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the fabric shade cleaned?

Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the pleated fabric. For marks, a barely-damp microfibre cloth can be used, but avoid soaking the fabric or using chemical sprays which may discolour or damage the material.
