Description

A small optic lens made for the Fiji track spotlights, this is the part that decides how tightly the light lands. It is a round disc, 50mm across and shallow in depth, finished in chrome so it sits in tone with the spotlight bodies in the same range. The angle it gives is a middle ground, wider than a tight pin of light and tighter than a general wash, so the beam reads as a defined pool with soft edges rather than a hard cut.

Track lighting earns its keep where the display keeps changing, so this is a shop floor, gallery and showroom part first, and increasingly a domestic one over kitchen islands and long dining tables. A lens is how a run of spots gets tuned once the scheme is live: one head drawing attention to a picture, the next opening out across a shelf of stock. We keep the Fiji lenses alongside the spots for that reason, and it is what we reach for when a project is nearly right but the light is falling too narrowly or too broadly for the surface it has to cover.
