Description

The Fiji is a 600mm diameter pendant light built around a dual-layer shade system: an outer layer of braided paper rope woven in alternating black and beige bands, and an inner textile lining that softens and diffuses light from a single E27 bulb. The rope shade sits on a black powder-coated metal frame suspended from a matching black ceiling canopy, with the drop adjustable between 350mm and 2200mm on installation.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and casual living spaces, the Fiji works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where the full woven shade can be appreciated. The 600mm diameter provides presence without overwhelming a typical 1.6-1.8m dining table, and the adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a surface depending on ceiling height. The outer rope weave casts patterned shadows onto surrounding surfaces when lit, adding textural interest to walls and ceilings.

The hand-woven paper rope gives each shade slight variation in tightness and pattern alignment, which is characteristic of the weaving process rather than a defect. The textile inner lining prevents direct glare from the bulb while allowing the rope texture to remain the visual focus. The black and beige tones pair with coastal, modern rustic and natural-material interiors, and the IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor spaces only.

The Fiji takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb, and it is included: 1 x E27, 10W. The fitting arrives ready to use, giving a warm-white output of around 900 lumens that complements the natural rope tones.

Is the drop height adjustable?

Yes. The pendant drop is adjustable between 350mm and 2200mm on installation, allowing it to be set at the right height above a dining table or kitchen island depending on your ceiling height. Adjustment is done by shortening the cable during fitting.

Can this be used in bathrooms or covered outdoor areas?

No. The Fiji carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is designed for dry indoor use only. The woven paper rope and textile lining are not moisture-resistant and will degrade if exposed to bathroom humidity or outdoor conditions.

Does the woven pattern vary between individual pendants?
