Description

The Fernhaven curved arm wall light is the tallest of the Fernhaven wall fittings at 320mm, with a vintage brass arm that sweeps up from a white marble detail and a shade at the top. It is 100mm wide and projects 160mm, the shallowest reach in the range, so it hugs the wall while still standing proud enough to be seen. One E14 LED lamp at 7W lights it, and the fitting weighs 0.6kg.

Height without depth is a specific solution. It suits a narrow hall where anything sticking out gets knocked, the wall beside a staircase, or a small bedroom where the bedside table sits close to the wall. A wall sconce that stays this near the plaster is the safer choice at the top of a stair, where a deeper fitting gets in the way of anyone carrying something up. The upward curve sends light towards the ceiling as well as down, which makes a low or dark room feel taller, and it is dimmable with a compatible LED lamp and dimmer switch. We would use it wherever a deeper fitting keeps getting knocked.

The arm and plate are metal in a warm vintage brass finish, aged rather than bright, set against white marble that keeps the whole thing from feeling too golden. Natural stone varies, so the marble on one fitting will not match another exactly. Dust both with a dry soft cloth and protect the stone from acidic cleaners, which etch marble and will not buff out.
