Description

The Fennhollow cluster in antique brass groups seven ribbed clear glass globes at close to one level beneath a 530mm plate. Held together rather than stepped, the globes read as a single warm mass of light, and the fluted glass scatters small highlights across the ceiling. It projects 1140mm to 1340mm below the ceiling, which is an ordinary pendant drop for a room of standard height. Seven E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs and the fitting is dimmable, so it can act as the main light in the room and then ease back for the evening.

This is the version for everyday rooms. It suits a dining table, a kitchen island, a coffee table or the centre of a living room, and seven bulbs give enough output to light a medium space on their own. The 530mm plate needs modest clearance and the drop leaves comfortable headroom under a 2400mm ceiling. Above a dining table, about 700mm between the lowest globe and the tabletop lights the surface without blocking the view across it.

Plate, stems and holders are metal in antique brass, warm toned and lightly aged, which pairs easily with oak, walnut, brass taps and clay or green paint. Ribbed glass shows dust in the flutes, so dust along the ribs with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush, power off and bulbs cool. A barely damp cloth is enough for the brass, and abrasive creams should be kept away from plated metal. At 6.3kg it fixes to a sound ceiling point. Fennhollow cascade pendants use the same ribbed globes on far longer drops for stairwells and tall halls.
