Description

The three light Fennhollow cluster is the small version, with three ribbed clear glass globes grouped beneath a 346mm bright nickel plate. The fluted glass gives it more life than its size suggests, throwing fine highlights onto the ceiling from only three bulbs. The drop adjusts between 1140mm and 1340mm and three E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs. It is dimmable, so this ceiling light can be run up for a task and down for the evening, which counts in a small room where it may well be the only fitting.

Use it where a full sized pendant would be too much, over a bedside table, above a small round dining table, or in a hallway, a study, a landing or a cloakroom. It repeats nicely too, and two or three along a kitchen island give a more even wash than one large fitting. At 2.9kg it hangs from a standard ceiling point without special fixings, and the modest 346mm plate keeps it in proportion in a tight space.

Metalwork is bright nickel, a cool clean silver that works alongside chrome taps and pale tile. Because the glass is ribbed it holds dust in the flutes, so dust it along the ribs with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush, always with the power off and the bulbs cool. The nickel takes a barely damp cloth, and sprays and abrasive creams should be kept well away from plated surfaces. Bulbs are visible through clear glass, so a warm LED globe keeps the light kind. Larger Fennhollow clusters and cascades carry the same ribbed glass into bigger rooms.
