Description

The three light Fennhollow cluster in antique brass is the compact size, with three ribbed clear glass globes gathered under a 346mm plate. Fluted glass and warm brass give it more presence than three bulbs would normally manage, throwing fine golden highlights onto the ceiling. The drop adjusts between 1140mm and 1340mm and three E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs. The fitting is dimmable, so it can be run brightly for a task and turned right down afterwards, which is useful where it is the only light in the room.

Small pendants earn their place where a large one would crowd the ceiling. We would hang the Fennhollow over a bedside table, above a small round dining table, or in a hall, study, landing or cloakroom. It also works in a row, with two or three along a kitchen island spreading the light more evenly than one big fitting. At 2.9kg it goes up on a standard ceiling point and levels easily, and the 346mm plate keeps it in proportion in a tight space.

The metal is finished in antique brass, warm and lightly darkened so it reads as colour rather than shine. Because the glass is fluted it traps dust in the ribs, so dust along them with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush with the power off and the bulbs cool. Wipe the brass with a barely damp cloth and keep sprays and abrasives away from the plating. Clear glass leaves the bulbs on show, so a warm LED globe suits the design. Larger Fennhollow clusters and the cascade drops carry the same ribbed glass into bigger rooms.
