Fay 3 Light Crystal Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Aged Gold/Silver

The Fay is a 530mm crystal semi-flush ceiling light built around a dual-finish frame that alternates aged gold and aged silver metalwork. Three E14 bulb holders sit within a central cage, surrounded by radiating crystal spears arranged in a circular starburst pattern. Each crystal piece is cut with faceted edges that catch and refract light from the bulbs, scattering highlights across the metallic frame and onto the ceiling above.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a traditional chandelier would hang too low, the semi-flush format keeps the 290mm projection compact while maintaining the decorative presence of a crystal fitting. The Fay suits hallways, landing areas, bedroom centres and dining rooms in period and contemporary homes where a decorative ceiling light is wanted without losing ceiling clearance. The dual gold-silver finish pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes without committing fully to either.

The crystal spears radiate from a turned aged-gold central finial, with the frame metalwork alternating between gold and silver sections to create tonal variation when viewed from different angles. At 4.1kg the fitting requires a secure ceiling mounting point — most modern plasterboard ceilings need a joist position or specialist fixings. The three E14 bulbs (sold separately) allow control over colour temperature and brightness depending on whether warm-white filament-style LEDs or cooler daylight bulbs are fitted.

Is the Fay suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 290mm projection from ceiling to lowest point makes it appropriate for standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m and above. Semi-flush fittings like the Fay provide decorative impact without the drop of a traditional pendant chandelier.

What bulbs does it require?

Three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Maximum 60W per bulb. Most users fit LED candle bulbs between 4-6W at 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light that complements the gold-silver finish.

Can it be used with a dimmer?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable bulbs. The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible — bulb choice determines whether dimming functions correctly. Check that your bulbs are marked as dimmable and compatible with your specific dimmer model.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal piece individually with a dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystal or getting moisture into the metalwork joints. Do not use spray cleaners or polishes on the aged-finish metalwork as they may alter the patina.
