Description

The Fairfax is a three light semi-flush ceiling light in antique brass, its glass shades held on a brass and metal frame that sits close to the ceiling rather than on a long drop. It spans 48cm across with a 40.5cm projection, so it has real presence overhead without hanging down into the room. Each of the three lights takes an E14 lamp, and the combination of brass, metal and glass gives it some genuine weight.

A semi-flush fitting like this makes sense wherever a hanging pendant would sit awkwardly close to head height, over a staircase, along a tall hallway, or in a living or dining room with a decent ceiling height to fill. The three lamps cast a warm, even light rather than one hard pool, so the room feels equally at home hosting people as it does settling into a quiet evening. It suits a period house particularly well, though a newer build can easily borrow the same sense of traditional character.

We finish it in antique brass, aged rather than bright, so it works with wood tones, cream and deeper heritage colours without dating the way a high shine finish can.
