Description

The Fad is a 6W LED wall light with a rotating head that adjusts 340° horizontally and 90° vertically, mounted on a circular matt black metal backplate. An integrated dimmer switch on the backplate allows brightness to be controlled without separate wall controls, making it practical for bedside reading positions, hallway accent lighting, or task lighting in home offices where ceiling fittings are fixed.

Designed for internal use only (IP20 rating), the Fad suits bedrooms as a reading light above a headboard, hallways for directional accent lighting on artwork or architectural features, and living rooms where adjustable task light is needed without running new ceiling circuits. The 90° vertical tilt range allows the light to be angled downwards onto a book or work surface, or upwards onto a wall to create wash light. The 340° horizontal rotation covers almost a full circle from the mounting point.

The matt black powder-coated metal construction gives a low-glare finish under daylight, and the acrylic diffuser over the LED module softens the light output to reduce harsh shadows when the head is angled directly at a surface. At 3000K colour temperature, the integrated 6W LED produces warm white light comparable to a traditional 40-50W incandescent bulb. The Fad measures 19.5cm in length from backplate to the front edge of the head when fully extended, with a backplate diameter of approximately 12cm, so it projects 7-8cm from the wall when the head is angled parallel to the surface.

How is the dimmer controlled?

The dimmer is integrated into the circular backplate as a touch-sensitive switch. Tap to turn on/off, hold to dim up or down. No separate wall dimmer is needed.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The Fad carries an IP20 rating, which means it is not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry internal rooms. For bathrooms, an IP44-rated fitting is required.

What angle range does the head cover?

The head rotates 340° horizontally around the backplate (almost a full circle) and tilts 90° vertically, allowing the light to be directed downwards onto a reading surface, forwards along a wall, or upwards to create wash light.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The 6W LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 10-15 years at typical domestic usage levels.
