Description

The Exility is a 200W recessed track power supply that converts 180-240V AC mains to 48V DC output for low-voltage track lighting systems. Housed in a black aluminium body measuring 325mm × 44mm × 23mm, the unit recesses into ceiling voids or track mounting channels to provide mains-to-track conversion without surface-mounted transformer boxes.

Designed for larger track installations in offices, retail spaces, galleries and hospitality environments, the 200W capacity supports multiple track heads and spotlights on a single circuit. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water spray, making it suitable for environments with higher humidity or occasional cleaning regimes. The unit connects to standard UK 230V mains wiring at one end and feeds 48V DC into the track rail at the other.

The black aluminium housing dissipates heat efficiently across the 325mm length, preventing thermal shutdown under sustained loads approaching the 200W maximum. Installation requires a minimum 50mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the 44mm height of the unit plus cable runs. The recessed design hides the power supply completely within the track profile or ceiling plane, leaving only the track rail visible from below.

Frequently Asked

What ceiling void depth is required?

A minimum 50mm ceiling void is needed to accommodate the 44mm height of the power supply plus cable entry and exit runs. For suspended ceilings or plasterboard installations, check that the mounting position provides structural support for the 325mm length.

How many track heads can this power?

The 200W capacity supports approximately 10-12 typical 15-20W track spotlights, or 4-6 higher-output 40-50W track heads, assuming they are all run simultaneously at full brightness. Calculate total wattage of your intended track configuration and keep it below 200W to prevent overload.

What does the IP54 rating mean?

IP54 provides protection against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. The power supply can be used in environments with higher humidity, occasional spray cleaning, or where dust accumulation is a concern, but it is not waterproof and should not be submerged or exposed to direct water jets.

Is this compatible with dimmer switches?

Dimming compatibility depends on the specific track heads and spotlights connected to the 48V output. The power supply itself provides constant 48V DC output. If the track heads support dimming, you will need a compatible 48V DC dimmer module installed downstream of this power supply.
