Description

The Exility internal corner connector is a recessed junction piece for magnetic track lighting systems installed into 12.5mm plasterboard ceilings. The aluminium connector forms a 90-degree internal corner where two track sections meet, maintaining continuous electrical connectivity through the turn while sitting flush with the plasterboard surface once plastered over.

Designed for residential and commercial recessed track installations in kitchens, galleries, offices and retail spaces, the connector is installed during the first-fix stage before plastering. The white powder-coated finish matches standard plasterboard primer and can be painted over once the ceiling surface is finished. The connector measures 100mm along each arm of the 90-degree turn, with a 46mm recess depth to accommodate the magnetic track profile.

The aluminium construction provides structural rigidity to support the track sections either side of the corner while maintaining low thermal expansion that could crack plaster joints over time. The connector carries power through internal copper busbars, eliminating the need for external wiring at corner junctions. Once the track system is energised, magnetic lighting heads can be positioned anywhere along the continuous run, including directly over the corner joint.

Frequently Asked

What plasterboard thickness does this fit?

This connector is designed specifically for 12.5mm standard plasterboard. The 46mm recess depth accommodates the track profile plus the plasterboard thickness. Thicker plasterboard or multiple layers may require a different connector model.

When is the connector installed during a ceiling build?

The connector is installed during first-fix, after the plasterboard is up but before plastering. The track sections slot into the connector, then the entire system is plastered over so only the track slot remains visible once finished.

Can magnetic lights sit directly over the corner joint?

Yes. The connector maintains continuous electrical connectivity through the 90-degree turn, so magnetic lighting heads can be positioned anywhere along the track run including directly over the corner junction.

Can the white finish be painted over?

Yes. The white powder-coated aluminium can be painted with standard ceiling paint once the plasterboard surface is finished and primed. The connector is designed to sit flush with the plaster, so only the track slot remains visible.
