Description

The Evasion is a 100cm diameter starburst chandelier built around a central glossy gold sphere, from which clear glass rods radiate outwards in multiple directions, each tipped with a white painted cap. Nine G9 bulb fittings sit within the structure, distributing light through and around the glass rods to create a diffused, multi-directional glow. The fitting weighs 6.8kg and is supplied by Schuller, a Spanish lighting manufacturer.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the chandelier mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose via an adjustable suspension system. The minimum drop from ceiling to the base of the chandelier is 67cm, extending to a maximum of 112cm depending on how much cable is let out during installation. The 100cm diameter means the fitting needs clearance in all directions and works best over a dining table, in a stairwell void, or as a centrepiece in a room at least 4m square.

The clear glass rods are cut to varying lengths, creating depth and three-dimensional form when viewed from any angle. The white tips soften the endpoints of each rod and scatter light gently into the surrounding space, while the glossy gold core adds warmth and reflects the light from the nine G9 bulbs back through the glass structure. The IP20 rating limits the chandelier to dry indoor locations only.

What bulbs does the Evasion take?

The chandelier takes nine G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K to complement the gold finish.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop from ceiling to the base of the chandelier is 67cm, so a ceiling height of at least 2.7m is recommended to maintain comfortable headroom underneath. The suspension can extend to 112cm for higher ceilings.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

Dimming depends on the G9 bulbs used. If you fit dimmable G9 LED bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch, the fitting can be dimmed. Non-dimmable G9 bulbs will not dim regardless of the switch.

How is the chandelier assembled?

The glass rods and white tips are typically supplied separately and slot or screw into the central gold core during installation. Full assembly instructions are provided in the Downloads section above.
