Description
The Evasion is a 100cm-diameter chandelier built on a mid-century starburst design, with clear glass rods radiating from a central chrome sphere. Each rod terminates in a dark chrome cap, creating a repeating pattern of transparency and reflection across the fixture. Nine G9 bulbs sit within the central core, casting light outward through the glass rods and across the ceiling plane above.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or greater, the Evasion works above dining tables in open-plan spaces, in double-height entrance halls, and as a centrepiece in living rooms where the ceiling can accommodate the 100cm span without the fixture overwhelming the room below. The adjustable drop runs from a minimum of 67cm to a maximum of 112cm from ceiling to base, set during installation by shortening the suspension cord. The chrome canopy conceals the ceiling rose and cable entry point.
The fixture weighs 6.8kg when fully assembled, requiring secure ceiling fixing into a joist or ceiling anchor rated for the load. The glass rods are hand-fitted into the chrome frame during manufacture, with each rod cut to a specific length to maintain the symmetrical radial pattern. The dark chrome tips provide visual weight at the outer edge of the design, balancing the mass of the central core and preventing the fixture from appearing top-heavy when viewed from below. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only.
The chrome finish is polished to a mirror-bright surface that reflects room light and multiplies the visual impact of the nine internal bulbs. In daylight the glass rods act as prisms, scattering diffused light; at night with the bulbs lit, the rods glow from within and the chrome tips catch sharp reflections. The fixture requires nine G9 bulbs (sold separately), each rated up to 10W, giving flexibility to choose halogen for warm tones or LED for energy efficiency and longevger lifespan.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Evasion take?
The chandelier takes nine G9 bulbs, each rated up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 2700K-3000K for a softer tone, though halogen G9 bulbs are also compatible if a brighter, crisper light is preferred.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 100cm diameter and adjustable 67-112cm drop work best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or greater. For dining tables, the chandelier typically hangs 75-85cm above the table surface, which requires a ceiling height of around 3m to avoid the fixture sitting too low.
Can the glass rods be replaced if one breaks?
The glass rods are hand-fitted during manufacture and are not sold as individual replacement parts. Contact Niori or Schuller directly if a rod is damaged — replacement may be possible depending on stock availability.
Is the chrome finish lacquered or will it tarnish?
The chrome plating is applied over the metal base and is resistant to tarnishing under normal indoor conditions. The polished surface can be wiped clean with a soft microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes that could scratch the chrome.
