Description

The Estridge wall light sets a mink half shade in front of a flat bronze panel, so the backplate becomes part of the design rather than something to hide. It is 500mm high and 320mm wide with a projection of only 140mm, which makes it a practical wall light for hallways, landings and stair walls as well as open rooms. At 1.8kg the panel gives the fitting some substance on the wall without needing heavy fixings. One E27 lamp rated up to 10W in LED sits behind the shade, throwing light up the wall and forwards into the room, and the fitting dims with a dimmable lamp and a compatible dimmer switch.

A half shade is the right shape when floor space is tight. Fit a pair either side of a bed and you keep both bedside tables clear; use one beside a fireplace, a reading chair or a piece of art and you get directional light without a lamp base in the way. The mink shade is a warm grey brown that works with taupe, oatmeal, olive and soft white walls, and the bronze panel is dark enough to hold its own against a deeper paint colour. Being dimmable, it suits living rooms and bedrooms where the light needs to change through the evening.

The panel and mounting are metal in a bronze finish, with the mink shade fitted over a rigid frame.
