Description

The Estrella is a pendant light with three angular, hexagonal rings hung at different heights from one round ceiling canopy on fine black cables. The rings are bronze and the canopy black, with a body of aluminium and steel, and each ring holds a white plastic diffuser that softens the integrated LED into a smooth, even line of light. Together the rings spread across an area 96cm long and 52cm wide, and the whole light drops 150cm overall. It draws 50W and gives 8,700 lumens, a generous output for a single fitting, so it can serve as the main light in a room rather than a decorative extra. It is rated IP20, so it belongs indoors in a dry room.

It suits a dining table best, where the staggered rings fill the height between table and ceiling and spread light across the whole top. It sits just as well over a kitchen island or in a living room with the ceiling height to let it hang freely. The colour temperature runs from 2200 to 6500K, so one light covers both the warm, low glow of a long dinner and the crisp, cool white of homework or paperwork. It is dimmable too, letting you bring the level right down for a quiet evening.

The remote control comes in the box and handles both brightness and colour temperature, so there is no need to reach for the wall each time you want a change. The light has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, and the remote runs on a CR2032 battery. As a mains light wired into the ceiling, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Packed, it weighs 5.5KG, so two pairs of hands make lighter work of unboxing and hanging it.
