The Estalacta is a 1.06m outdoor floor lamp built around a single GU10 bulb fitting enclosed within an opal white polyethylene column, set on a 150mm circular silver base. The design takes its form from the tapered profile of a stalactite, with the polyethylene material diffusing light across the entire 1m height of the column rather than casting from a single point.

Designed for terraces, patios and covered outdoor seating areas, the Estalacta carries an IP44 rating that protects the bulb fitting from splashing water and solid objects above 1mm. The 150mm base provides stability on paving, decking and gravel without needing to be weighted or anchored, though the 2.3kg combined weight means it can be moved seasonally or repositioned for events. The lamp requires mains voltage (220-240V) so needs to be within reach of an outdoor socket or permanent outdoor wiring.

The opal white polyethylene column is translucent rather than transparent, so the GU10 bulb inside creates a soft glow across the full height of the lamp without visible hot spots. The material resists UV degradation and temperature variation better than glass or acrylic, and the single-piece moulded construction has no joints or seams where moisture can enter. The silver base is metal with a brushed finish that resists fingerprints and weathers to a slightly darker patina over time if left exposed to the elements year-round. Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the GU10 bulb fitted. Use a dimmable GU10 LED and pair it with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer for smooth control.

Can it be left outdoors year-round?

The polyethylene column and silver base are designed for outdoor exposure, but the IP44 rating means the lamp should be positioned under cover or brought indoors during prolonged heavy rain or winter storms to extend its lifespan.
