Description

The Estalacta is a 680mm bathroom wall light with a single GU10 fitting housed in a silver base, topped with a tall opal white polyethylene shade. The shade extends vertically in a tapered column that widens slightly towards the top, mimicking the form of a stalactite while directing light both upward and downward along the wall. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, including above mirrors and on walls adjacent to showers.

Designed for vanity and mirror lighting in bathrooms, ensuites and cloakrooms, the Estalacta works as a single accent beside a mirror or in symmetrical pairs flanking a basin. The 110mm projection keeps the fitting clear of mirror edges while the 140mm width provides sufficient visual presence without overwhelming compact wall space. The opal polyethylene diffuses the GU10 beam into a soft glow that reduces glare when positioned at eye level.

The silver finish on the base is a brushed or satin treatment that minimises fingerprints and water spotting in humid environments. The opal white shade is made from polyethylene rather than glass, giving it impact resistance and lighter weight than equivalent glass fittings. The combination of silver base and white shade pairs with chrome taps, brushed nickel hardware, white tiles and grey-toned bathroom palettes common in contemporary and transitional interiors.

What bathroom zones can the Estalacta be installed in?

The IP44 rating allows installation in zones 2 and 3 — this includes walls adjacent to baths and showers (outside the direct spray zone) and general bathroom wall areas. It cannot be installed in zone 0 (inside the bath or shower enclosure) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower tray).

Does it come with a bulb?

No. The fitting takes one GU10 bulb (sold separately). Most users pair it with a GU10 LED between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K warm white for bathroom mirror lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself has no dimming circuitry — dimming is controlled by the bulb and mains dimmer combination.

Can it be used in pairs?

Yes. The 140mm width and vertical emphasis make it well-suited to symmetrical installation on either side of a bathroom mirror, typically spaced 600-900mm apart depending on mirror width.
