Description

The ESP MAGfire reset key is a moulded plastic key designed to reset ESP SCP2R manual call points after activation. Each key has a forked top that engages with the reset mechanism inside the call point, and a rectangular body with an embossed 'UP' marker to show correct orientation during use. This pack contains five keys.

Used primarily by fire alarm system installers, maintenance engineers and facility managers, the reset key allows a triggered call point to be returned to standby after a test or false alarm without requiring disassembly of the call point housing. The key is inserted through the reset aperture on the call point faceplate, turned to disengage the latch, and withdrawn once the glass element has been replaced.

The moulded plastic construction keeps the key lightweight at 4 grams per unit, making it practical to carry multiple keys on a maintenance keyring or store spares at each call point location. The embossed 'UP' marker prevents incorrect insertion, which could damage the internal latch mechanism. These keys are specific to ESP MAGfire SCP2R call points and are not compatible with other manufacturers' reset mechanisms.

Frequently Asked

Which call points do these keys fit?

These reset keys are designed specifically for ESP MAGfire SCP2R manual call points. They are not compatible with call points from other manufacturers or other ESP models.

How is the reset key used?

Insert the forked end of the key through the reset aperture on the call point faceplate with the 'UP' marker facing upwards. Turn the key to disengage the internal latch, then replace the glass element before withdrawing the key and closing the call point housing.

Can the keys be duplicated?

These are moulded plastic keys with a proprietary shape for the ESP MAGfire reset mechanism. Standard key cutting services cannot duplicate them. Replacement keys must be purchased from ESP or authorised distributors.

How many keys are needed per site?

Most installations keep one key per call point location plus spares with the maintenance engineer. For a building with ten call points, two or three packs would provide sufficient coverage for routine maintenance and testing.
