Description

The ESP MAGfire MAGSC-816 is a 4-zone sounder expander card designed to add four independently-controlled sounder circuits to an existing MAG816 fire alarm control panel. The card slots directly into the panel's internal expansion bus, allowing the panel to drive additional alarm sounders or visual indicators without requiring external relay modules or separate power supplies.

Used in commercial, industrial and multi-occupancy residential fire alarm installations where the base panel's sounder outputs are insufficient for the building's coverage requirements, the expander card integrates with the MAG816's zone programming to trigger different sounder groups based on which detection zone has activated. Each of the four zones can be programmed to activate on detection from specific input zones, allowing staged evacuation protocols or area-specific alerting in larger buildings.

The card measures approximately 100mm x 120mm and draws power directly from the MAG816 panel's PSU via the expansion bus. Installation requires removing the panel cover, inserting the card into the designated expansion slot, and configuring the zone assignments through the panel's programming interface. The card's screw terminals along the top edge accept standard fire alarm cable, with each zone supporting up to the current limit specified in the MAG816 panel manual.

The green PCB visible in the image shows the relay driver circuits, isolation components and terminal blocks that handle the sounder switching. The card carries no user-serviceable components and is supplied as a sealed module for installation by qualified fire alarm engineers only.
