Description

The ESP accessible toilet alarm module combines a 12V DC power supply, a red triangular indicator light and an audible buzzer behind a brushed stainless steel 1-gang faceplate. The module is designed to be installed as part of a disabled toilet alarm system, specifically for use with the ESP UDTAKITSS kit, providing visual and audible signalling when the alarm pull cord is activated.

Installed in accessible toilet facilities in commercial buildings, hospitals, care homes and public venues, the module mounts flush into a standard single-gang UK back box and connects to the alarm pull cord and optional remote panel. When the pull cord is activated, the red triangular indicator illuminates and the internal buzzer sounds, alerting nearby staff or carers that assistance is needed. The stainless steel finish resists corrosion in high-humidity bathroom environments and withstands repeated cleaning with standard disinfectants.

The module accepts mains input from 100-240V AC and outputs a regulated 12V DC at up to 500mA to power the connected alarm components. The 87mm x 87mm x 41mm body fits within a standard 1-gang back box with sufficient depth for the transformer and buzzer assembly. The red triangular symbol on the faceplate meets UK building regulation requirements for disabled toilet alarm signalling and is immediately recognisable as an alarm indicator.

Is this a complete toilet alarm system or just the module?

This is the power, light and buzzer module only. It forms part of the ESP UDTAKITSS accessible toilet alarm kit and must be used with the compatible pull cord and optional remote reset panel sold separately.

What back box depth is required?

The module body measures 48mm deep. A standard 1-gang metal back box with at least 35mm depth is required, though 47mm or deeper is recommended to accommodate the internal transformer and wiring connections without compression.

Can it be used as a standalone alarm?

No. The module requires connection to an ESP-compatible pull cord switch to function. When installed as part of the UDTAKITSS system, the pull cord activates the light and buzzer via the 12V DC output from this module.

How is the buzzer silenced after activation?

The buzzer is silenced by either resetting the pull cord or using the optional remote reset panel that connects to the system. See the product manual in the Downloads section for full wiring and reset instructions.
