Description

The Eris is a 103mm recessed LED downlight with an integrated 10W LED module delivering warm 3000K light through a white aluminium trim. The downlight sits flush with the ceiling once installed, with only the white bezel and inner reflector visible from below. The 10W LED provides general ambient lighting for rooms up to approximately 8-10m².

Designed for dry interior ceilings in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and home offices, the Eris requires a circular ceiling cut-out and void depth sufficient for the integrated driver and heat sink (typically 80-100mm above the ceiling surface). The IP20 rating limits installation to dry areas — not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens above hobs, or any location subject to moisture ingress. The white finish blends into standard white ceilings, making the fitting nearly invisible when switched off.

The aluminium construction dissipates heat from the LED module efficiently, supporting the rated 30,000-hour lifespan typical of fixed LED downlights in this class. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm tone comparable to traditional halogen without the heat output or energy draw — the 10W consumption is roughly one-sixth that of a 60W halogen equivalent. The LED is non-dimmable and operates directly from 230V mains via the integral driver.

Is the Eris dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimmer switches. Connecting the Eris to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the driver.

What ceiling void depth is required?

Typical installation requires 80-100mm of void space above the ceiling surface to house the LED driver and heat sink. Consult the installation manual or contact us if your ceiling void is shallower than 80mm.

Can this be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Eris is not protected against moisture ingress. For bathrooms, shower rooms or kitchens above hobs, use IP44 or IP65 rated downlights instead.

What's the light output in lumens?

10W LED downlights in the 3000K range typically produce 700-900 lumens, sufficient for general ambient lighting in rooms up to 8-10m². For higher output or task lighting, consider pairing multiple Eris downlights or using higher-wattage models.
