Description

The Eris is a 150mm recessed LED downlight with an integrated 20W LED module delivering warm 3000K light through a white aluminium trim ring. The downlight sits flush with the ceiling once installed, projecting light downward in a focused cone suitable for general room illumination or task lighting over worktops, desks and dining tables.

Designed for residential living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms and commercial hospitality spaces, the Eris provides consistent output without the need for separate lamp replacement — the LED module is rated for continuous operation throughout the fitting's lifespan. The 150mm aperture works in standard plasterboard ceilings with typical void depths of 100-120mm, and the white powder-coated aluminium trim blends into white or light-coloured ceiling finishes. The fitting is non-dimmable and operates on fixed 230V mains.

The IP20 rating restricts the Eris to dry interior locations away from direct water contact, making it suitable for general rooms but not bathrooms or wet areas. The aluminium construction dissipates heat effectively, keeping the trim cool enough to touch during operation. At 20W the Eris delivers approximately 1,600-1,800 lumens depending on LED efficiency, providing sufficient light for a 3-4m² zone when spaced appropriately across a ceiling grid.

The Eris requires a minimum void depth of approximately 100mm above the ceiling surface for the LED driver and heat dissipation. Check the installation guide for exact clearances before cutting ceiling apertures.

Is this downlight dimmable?

No. The Eris operates at fixed output on 230V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches. Installing it on a dimmed circuit may cause flickering or damage to the LED driver.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the Eris is only suitable for dry interior locations. For bathrooms you need an IP44 or IP65 rated downlight depending on the zone — use the search filters to find bathroom-rated alternatives.
