Description

The Erika is a 12cm industrial pendant light with an adjustable tilt mechanism that allows the shade to be angled 90° from vertical, directing light exactly where needed. The matte black metal shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately), and satin copper detailing on the suspension arm and adjustment points provides metallic contrast against the black body.

Designed for task lighting rather than ambient fill, the Erika works above kitchen worktops, side tables, desks and reading corners where directed light is more useful than overhead spread. The 35-140cm adjustable cable drop allows the pendant to be positioned 60-80cm above a worktop or desk surface, and multiple Erika pendants can be installed at staggered heights above a kitchen island or bar. The IP20 rating restricts the pendant to dry indoor locations only.

The matte black finish absorbs reflected light and reduces glare compared to gloss or metallic shades, making the Erika suitable for workspaces and kitchens where task visibility matters. The 12cm diameter keeps the visual footprint small, and the 0.52kg weight allows installation on standard UK ceiling roses without additional support. The Class 1 earthed construction requires connection to mains earth via a three-core cable.

What bulb does the Erika take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for task lighting.

How does the tilt mechanism work?

The shade tilts on a brass-bushed joint at the suspension arm, allowing approximately 90° of adjustment from vertical. The position is held by friction in the joint rather than by a locking screw, so the shade can be repositioned without tools.

Can multiple Erika pendants be installed together?

Yes. The 12cm diameter and adjustable drop make the Erika suitable for grouped installations above kitchen islands, bars or dining tables. Stagger the heights between 60-100cm above the surface for a layered effect, or keep them uniform for a cleaner line.

What height above a worktop is recommended?

For task lighting above kitchen worktops or desks, position the bottom of the shade 60-80cm above the surface. This provides directed light without the shade obstructing sightlines or head clearance.
