Description

The Erich is a 5-light island suspension built around a 120cm horizontal nickel bar frame suspending five white opal glass globes on individual drop cables. Each globe houses an E14 bulb (sold separately) behind blown glass that diffuses light evenly downward and to the sides. The frame itself carries two additional globes at either end of the bar, creating a balanced composition across the full 120cm width.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Erich provides distributed light across a 2.5-3m surface length. The adjustable cable drop allows the fitting to be set between 45cm and 149cm below the ceiling on installation, positioning the globes 65-75cm above a worktop or 70-80cm above a dining table depending on the ceiling height. The rectangular nickel canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable runs.

The nickel finish on the metal frame presents as a cool-toned satin metal without the high reflectivity of polished chrome, pairing well with stainless steel appliances, grey stone worktops and cooler contemporary interiors. The white opal glass globes are hand-blown, so minor variations in size and shape between individual globes are typical of the manufacturing process. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations — not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.

The Erich takes five E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs at 5-6W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen and dining use.

What length kitchen island does it suit?

The 120cm bar width works best over islands or dining tables between 2.5m and 3m long. For shorter islands under 2m, the Erich may appear oversized. For longer islands over 3.5m, consider pairing two Erich fittings or choosing a wider multi-pendant system.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

The drop is set during installation by shortening the suspension cables to the required length between 45cm and 149cm. Once installed, the drop cannot be adjusted without removing the fitting and re-threading the cables through the canopy.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor locations. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any area where water ingress is possible.
