Description
The Erich is a 12-light chandelier built around an asymmetric framework of gold-finished metal arms radiating from a central column, each arm terminating in a white blown glass globe. The arms extend at varied angles and lengths, creating an organic, molecular arrangement rather than a symmetrical layout. Each globe houses a single E14 bulb (sold separately), and the overall width of 110cm makes this a large-format fitting designed for substantial ceiling heights.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living areas with ceiling heights above 2.7m, the Erich works best in spaces where the asymmetric arm structure can be appreciated from multiple angles. The adjustable drop ranges from 70cm to 140cm on installation, allowing the chandelier to sit 600-900mm above a dining table or lower into a double-height entrance hall. The gold finish on the metal arms catches ambient light and creates visual warmth against the cooler white of the glass globes.
The white glass globes are blown rather than moulded, so each sphere shows slight variation in wall thickness and a faint seam where the two halves were joined during manufacture. The globes diffuse the light from the E14 bulbs into a soft, even glow rather than casting defined shadows, making the chandelier function as ambient lighting across a room rather than task lighting over a specific surface. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor locations only.
The gold finish is applied over the metal framework and ages naturally over time, developing a slightly darker patina in areas where the metal is exposed to air circulation. The fitting weighs approximately 4kg fully assembled and requires a ceiling rose rated for that load plus a margin of safety. Installation typically takes 45-60 minutes for two people working with standard UK wiring and ceiling fixings.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Erich take?
The chandelier takes twelve E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K to achieve ambient lighting without excessive brightness.
What ceiling height is needed?
The adjustable drop ranges from 70cm to 140cm. For a dining table the chandelier typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. The 110cm width also requires adequate floor space — dining tables of 180cm or longer suit the scale.
Is the chandelier dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen. If you fit dimmable LED E14 bulbs, the chandelier will dim when paired with a compatible LED dimmer switch. The metal framework itself has no built-in dimming function.
How is the gold finish maintained?
The gold finish develops a natural patina over time. Wipe the metal arms occasionally with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. The white glass globes can be cleaned with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water — avoid sprays or polishes that may leave residue on the glass.
