Description

The Erda is a 30cm diameter sphere pedestal light moulded from white PMMA plastic, rated IP54 for outdoor use. A single E27 bulb inside the sphere (sold separately, max 30W) diffuses through the translucent plastic casing, creating soft perimeter lighting suitable for driveways, garden paths and property borders. The fitting sits on a low pedestal base, raising the sphere 29cm above ground level.

Designed for permanent outdoor installation, the Erda suits front gardens, side access paths, patio edges and driveway markers where low-level ambient light is needed without glare. The IP54 rating protects the internal electrics from dust ingress and water spray from any direction, making the fitting suitable for open sites exposed to rain. The plastic construction weighs approximately 800g, light enough to handle during installation but stable once connected to ground wiring.

The white PMMA casing diffuses light evenly in all directions, producing a soft glow rather than a directed beam. When paired with a warm-white E27 LED bulb (2700K-3000K, 6-10W recommended), the Erda provides enough light to define a path edge or garden feature without creating harsh shadows. The spherical form and white finish suit both contemporary and traditional garden designs, blending into daytime landscapes as a neutral accent.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Erda take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 30W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient path lighting.

Is it waterproof?

The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. This makes it suitable for open outdoor sites exposed to rain, but it is not submersion-proof and should not be installed where standing water can collect around the base.

How is it wired?

The Erda requires connection to mains-voltage outdoor wiring (AC 220-240V). Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with outdoor electrical wiring standards. The fitting is not plug-and-play.

Can it be used on a driveway?

The fitting is designed for garden path and border installation where it will not be subject to vehicle impact. While the plastic construction is durable, it is not rated for driveway positions where cars may strike or roll over the fitting.
