Eos 6 Light Outdoor Flush Ceiling Light - Opal White

The Eos is a 900mm flush ceiling light moulded from opal white polyethylene into an asymmetric cloud-like form, housing six E27 bulb fittings behind the translucent body. A powder-coated white metal back plate fixes the fitting to the ceiling, and the polyethylene diffuser sits 210mm proud of the surface once installed. The IP44 rating protects the fitting against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas and bathroom zones.

Designed for outdoor covered terraces, porches, carports and bathroom ceilings, the Eos spreads light across a wide area through the polyethylene body rather than directing it downward as a traditional flush fitting would. The six E27 fittings take standard screw bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), and because the fitting is dimmable-compatible, pairing it with dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer allows the light level to be adjusted. The broad 900mm x 480mm footprint works in larger spaces where a smaller flush fitting would look undersized — open-plan kitchen-diners, entrance halls with high ceilings, and wide porches.

The opal white polyethylene construction gives the fitting a 4.5kg weight, heavier than most acrylic flush fittings but still light enough for standard plasterboard ceiling fixings where the joists are located. The material is impact-resistant and UV-stable, so outdoor installations under cover will not yellow or become brittle over time. The cloud shape is asymmetric rather than geometric, with soft undulating curves that vary across the length — no two viewing angles look identical, which makes the fitting read more as a sculptural object than a functional light when switched off.

Can this be used outdoors?

Yes, but only under cover. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes, which makes it suitable for covered porches, carports, and outdoor terraces where there is a roof or canopy overhead. It is not rated for fully exposed outdoor installation where it would face direct rain.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes six standard E27 screw bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for soft ambient lighting outdoors or in bathrooms.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. To achieve dimming, you need dimmable E27 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch installed on the lighting circuit. Non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to a dimmer and may flicker or fail.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 210mm from the ceiling once installed. It works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower ceilings the fitting may feel visually dominant, though this can work in spaces like bathrooms or porches where the proportions suit a larger flush fitting.
