Eos 4 Light E27 Pendant Light 49cm Drop - Matt White

Four opal white shades sit under a matt white body, set out across a fitting 50cm wide, so light spreads over a table rather than gathering in a single bright pool. Each shade takes an E27 lamp, and a GLS LED of up to 15W suits it well. The drop is adjustable, so it can hang high in a hall or sit closer over a worktop, and it will dim where suitable lamps and a compatible control are used.

We would use this over a kitchen island or a long dining table, where several points of light do more work than a lone pendant. It is sealed against splashes and steam, which opens up rooms that usually rule a pendant out: a bathroom with the headroom for it, a shower room, a utility, or a covered porch where the weather stays off it. The plain white finish keeps it quiet in a busy kitchen, and it holds its own in a simpler room without crowding the space.

The matt white finish is even and low in sheen, and the opal shades soften the output so the lamps do not glare through. Keep it clean with a dry duster, and for marks use a cloth wrung out in warm water, both with the power off and the shades cool to the touch. It carries a one year warranty. How far below the ceiling does it hang?

The drop can be set anywhere between 300mm and 1500mm, so it works over a table or in a taller hallway.

Which lamps does it take?

It takes four E27 lamps. A GLS A60 LED is the recommended choice, rated at up to 15W each. Lamps are supplied separately.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

Yes. It is IP44 rated, so it copes with splashes and steam in a bathroom, shower room or utility, and under a covered porch.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a dimmer matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

How should I clean the shades?

Switch off at the wall, let everything cool, then dust with a soft dry cloth. For fingermarks, a cloth wrung out in warm water is enough. Avoid solvents and abrasive creams.
