Description

This is a 9W LED GLS bulb on a B22 bayonet cap, rated at 806 lumens and able to change colour on command from the handheld remote supplied with it. Switched off it looks like any other opal bulb, so it sits quietly in a pendant or a shade until you want it to do something else. The remote carries red, green and blue keys, a plain white key and a grid of further preset shades, along with flash, strobe, smooth and mode buttons for slow fades and faster sequences. The pack rates the bulb as a 60W replacement and prints a 15 year lifespan.

B22 is the bayonet cap: two small pins on the side of the metal base rather than a screw thread. If the old bulb went in with a push and a quarter turn, this one will fit; if it screwed in, you want an E27 instead. That covers a great many British ceiling pendants, standard lamps and table lamps, so colour can be added to a room without rewiring anything. It suits a child's bedroom, a games room or a television corner, and the white key means the same fitting still gives ordinary room light when nobody wants purple walls.
