Description

The Energizer 6.5W Smart E27 GLS LED bulb combines a filament-style visible LED element with variable white technology and app control. The bulb outputs 806 lumens at 6.5W consumption, replacing a traditional 60W incandescent or halogen GLS bulb. Colour temperature is adjustable across the white spectrum via the Energizer Smart app, allowing the user to shift from warm white for evening use to cooler white for task lighting without changing the bulb.

Controlled via the Tuya-based Energizer Smart app (iOS and Android), the bulb supports voice commands through Hey Google, Amazon Alexa and Siri. Multiple bulbs can be grouped for synchronised control, so an entire room or zone can be adjusted from a single command. The app also allows scheduling, remote on/off when away from home, and dimming from 100% down to low ambient levels. The bulb requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection for setup and control.

The filament-style LED inside the clear glass envelope gives the bulb a traditional incandescent appearance when lit, making it suitable for exposed-bulb fixtures where the bulb itself is visible. The E27 Edison screw base fits standard UK and European light fittings, table lamps, pendant shades and wall lights. The bulb is rated for Zone 3 bathroom use (outside shower enclosures and above basins) but is not water-resistant and cannot be used in Zone 1 or Zone 2 wet areas.

Does this bulb require a hub or bridge?

No. The bulb connects directly to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network via the Energizer Smart app. No separate hub, bridge or gateway is required, though the bulb will not connect to 5GHz-only routers.

What does variable white mean?

Variable white (also called CCT or tunable white) allows you to adjust the colour temperature of the light from warm white tones (around 2700K) to cooler daylight tones (around 6500K) using the app. This lets you change the mood or function of the light without swapping bulbs.

Can I dim this bulb without the app?

No. The bulb requires the app or a voice assistant command to dim. It will not respond to traditional wall-mounted dimmer switches and should be fitted to a standard on/off switch or pull-cord circuit only.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The bulb is rated for Zone 3 bathroom use only, which covers areas outside the shower enclosure and more than 60cm from a bath or basin edge. It cannot be used in enclosed shower fittings or directly above baths (Zone 1 or Zone 2).
