Empoli Pendant Light - Black & Brushed Brass

The Empoli is a pendant light with an open cage shade made from flat steel strips in black, gathered beneath a brushed brass cover that sleeves the lampholder. The strips curve out from the brass top to a rounded shoulder, then taper to a ring at the open base, so the bulb hangs in plain view inside the cage. It is 110cm tall overall and 20cm in diameter, hanging from a round black ceiling canopy on a slim black flex. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulb is not included, so the choice of bulb is yours. Its IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

Because the shade is open, the bulb becomes part of the look, which is why we suggest a decorative filament bulb for it. At 20cm across, it is a sensible size over a small dining table, a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, where a row of them reads well, and on its own it suits a hallway, a landing or a bedroom. The black and brushed brass pairing sits happily with dark wood, stone grey walls and soft neutrals, and it gives an industrial scheme a warmer edge without looking fussy. You get a pendant that looks finished whether the bulb is lit or not.

No. It is rated IP20, which means indoors in a dry room only, so we suggest a dining area, a kitchen island, a hallway or a bedroom instead.

No, the bulb is not included. It takes an E27 bulb up to a maximum of 40W, and a decorative filament bulb looks good through the open cage.
