Description

The Emily is a 2 light wall light with a copper patina finish, pairing frosted glass trumpet shades with curved metalwork featuring a ribbon-twist detail on the central stem and backplate. Each shade sits on a looped arm that extends from a circular backplate, with the arms spreading symmetrically either side of a vertical stem topped with a ball finial. The fixture takes two E14 bulbs (sold separately).

Designed for living rooms, hallways and dining rooms in traditional or country-style homes, the Emily works as a single fitting in a narrow hallway or as a pair flanking a fireplace or mirror. The frosted glass shades diffuse light evenly across the wall, providing ambient lighting rather than directed task light. The backplate sits 130mm wide and the arms extend approximately 180mm from the wall, so the fitting needs at least 200mm of clear wall space either side to avoid the shades sitting too close to adjacent furniture or doorframes.

The copper patina finish is a hand-applied aged copper effect that shows tonal variation across the metalwork, giving each fitting a slightly different appearance from oxidised copper to warmer bronze tones depending on the batch. The ribbon-twist detail is a cast element that wraps around the central stem and repeats on the backplate, adding a decorative flourish without excessive ornamentation. The Emily takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional look.

Does the copper patina change over time?

The copper patina finish is a factory-applied aged effect, not raw copper. It will not oxidise further or change colour significantly once installed, though the hand-applied nature of the finish means each piece shows slight tonal variation from the factory.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The Emily is a wall light rather than a ceiling pendant, so ceiling height is not the primary consideration. The fixture sits approximately 300mm tall from the top of the ball finial to the bottom of the backplate, making it well-proportioned for walls in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Emily carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or any location where it may be exposed to moisture.
