Description

The Emery is a 343mm wide pendant light with a palladian bronze metal shade, prismatic lens diffuser and adjustable drop ranging from 377mm to 1277mm. The single E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), with the prismatic lens softening and distributing the downward light to reduce harsh shadows under the fitting.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and work surfaces where task lighting is needed without glare, the Emery hangs on a rod that conceals the cable run and attaches to a ceiling-mounted canopy. The drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height above the work surface or table depending on ceiling height. The 343mm diameter provides enough spread for a single pendant over a small table or as part of a run of two or three over a longer island.

The palladian bronze finish is a mid-tone warm brown with a low-sheen satin surface that hides fingerprints and sits comfortably in traditional, farmhouse and transitional interiors. The metal shade is spun from steel with a rolled edge at the rim, and the prismatic lens is sealed into the base of the shade to protect the bulb and diffuse the light evenly. The fitting comes from Quoizel, a US lighting manufacturer established in 1930.

What bulb does the Emery take?

The pendant uses a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining use.

What does the prismatic lens do?

The prismatic lens is a textured glass diffuser sealed into the base of the shade. It spreads and softens the light from the bulb, reducing glare and eliminating harsh shadows on the work surface or table below.

How many pendants are needed over a kitchen island?

For a standard 1800-2400mm island, two Emery pendants spaced 600-900mm apart typically provide even task lighting. Longer islands may need three. The 343mm diameter means pendants can be spaced closer than larger industrial shades without visual crowding.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by cutting the rod to length and fixing the canopy to the ceiling. Once installed, the drop cannot be adjusted without re-fitting. Measure the required height above your work surface or table before cutting the rod.
