Description

The Eliot is an Art Deco-style wall light combining a white opal glass cylinder with polished brass metalwork, rated IP44 for bathroom use. The cylindrical glass sits between two ribbed brass collars on a spherical arm that extends from a circular wall plate, all in a high-polish brass finish. The fitting includes a 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K, providing warm-white light through the translucent glass.

Designed for bathroom mirror lighting, hallway illumination and accent lighting in traditional or period-styled interiors, the Eliot measures 280mm tall with a 130mm projection from the wall. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, protecting the electrical components from water splashes around basins and baths. The opal glass diffuses the LED source evenly, avoiding harsh spotting on mirrors or walls.

The polished brass finish reflects both natural and artificial light, creating highlights that shift depending on viewing angle and ambient light conditions. The stepped ribbed detailing on both brass collars references Art Deco and early-20th-century theatre lighting design. Can the Eliot be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating provides protection against water splashes, making the Eliot suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. This covers areas around basins and baths where moisture is present but not direct water jets. It should not be installed inside a shower enclosure or directly above a bath in zone 1.

Is the LED bulb replaceable?

Yes. The fitting uses a standard G9 socket and the 3W LED bulb can be replaced if it fails. G9 LED bulbs are widely available and typically last 15,000-25,000 hours under normal use.

Can the polished brass tarnish over time?

Polished brass naturally develops a patina as it reacts with air and moisture. In bathrooms this can happen faster due to humidity. If you prefer to maintain the bright polished finish, clean periodically with a soft cloth and brass cleaner formulated for lacquered brass.

How far does it project from the wall?

The Eliot projects 130mm from the wall to the front face of the glass cylinder. When positioned beside a mirror, this projection provides sufficient clearance to avoid the light sitting tight against the mirror edge.
