Description
This metal trinket box takes the form of a mother elephant with her calf standing close at her front feet, her trunk curled down towards the little one. The pair are hand painted in a mottled grey with warm brown tones and a fine swirling pattern, the calf a shade lighter, with soft pink inside the ears and on the feet, ivory-coloured tusks and tiny red eyes. Rows of clear sparkling stones run across the mother's ears and back, and a gold-coloured rim traces the line where the lid meets the base. It stands 6.5cm tall, 9.5cm wide and 6cm deep, a neat size to tuck onto a shelf or side table.
The lid is the whole top of the mother elephant, head and all, and it swings back on a small hinge at her rear to reveal a bright orange interior. It makes a cheerful home for rings, earrings, a favourite pendant or the little things that tend to go missing, and closed it is simply a charming ornament. We like it on a dressing table or bedside table, where everyday jewellery stays to hand, but it sits just as happily on a mantelpiece, a bookshelf or inside a display cabinet beside other treasured pieces.
The box is made from metal alloy and painted by hand, and its four legs, with the calf alongside, give it a steady footing on a flat surface. To keep the paintwork and stones looking their best, dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from water and household cleaners. Tuck a pair of earrings inside before you wrap it and it becomes a gift with a lovely little surprise waiting under the lid.

Frequently Asked
How big is the elephant trinket box?
It stands 6.5cm tall, 9.5cm wide and 6cm deep, a neat size for a dressing table, bedside table or bookshelf.
How does the trinket box open?
The top of the mother elephant, including her head, lifts back on a small hinge at her rear to reveal a bright orange interior for small treasures.
What is the elephant trinket box made of?
It is made from metal alloy and hand painted in mottled grey with brown tones and pink details, with rows of clear sparkling stones across the ears and back.
What can I keep inside it?
It suits small things best: a couple of rings, a pair of stud earrings, a fine chain or a tiny keepsake you want to keep safe and close to hand.
Is the baby elephant a separate piece?
No, the calf is part of the base and stays at the mother's feet when the lid is opened, so there is no loose piece to lose.
How should I look after it?
Dust it gently with a soft dry cloth, and keep it away from water and household cleaners so the hand painted finish and the stones stay bright.
