Description

This is a small white adaptor that lets a bayonet cap lampholder accept a small screw cap lamp instead. It measures 28mm across and 44mm tall, so it adds very little length to the fitting it sits in. The bayonet pins engage the holder you already have, and the E14 thread at the other end is ready for a golf ball LED. There is no rewiring and nothing to cut.

It earns its keep whenever the lamp you want and the holder you have refuse to agree: an older pendant or bedside lamp with a bayonet holder, a shade sized for a golf ball or candle lamp, or a fitting you would far rather keep than replace. We reach for these when someone has found the right shade at the wrong socket size, and they are just as handy as a stopgap while you decide what to do with an inherited light. Keep the load within what the host fitting allows, and choose an LED so the lamp stays light in the holder and draws little current.

The body is finished in white, which disappears neatly into a white holder or a pale shade and stays discreet behind glass. Give it a wipe with a dry cloth whenever you change the lamp, with the power off at the switch and the lamp cool in your hand. It carries a one year warranty.
