Edison 9 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Edison is a 430mm square flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome frame holding layers of Asfour crystal strands arranged in octagonal rows. Nine G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit within the crystal layers, casting light through the faceted crystal squares and strands to produce a field of refracted light across the ceiling and upper walls. The chrome frame forms a square perimeter that supports the crystal lattice and reflects additional light back through the layers.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.8m where a traditional pendant would hang too low, the Edison sits 150mm proud of the ceiling surface and suits hallways, landings, master bedrooms and living rooms where ambient ceiling light is needed without sacrificing headroom. The 430mm footprint covers a useful spread without dominating a smaller room, while the crystal density gives enough visual weight for larger open-plan spaces up to 20-25sqm. The fitting fixes directly to a standard ceiling rose and requires no drop rods or suspension cables.

Each crystal element is cut Asfour crystal, a lead-free optical crystal that refracts light into spectral colour when struck by direct light. The polished chrome finish on the metal frame provides high reflectivity that amplifies the light output and keeps the fitting visually cohesive with polished chrome door furniture, taps and radiator valves. At 4.8kg the Edison requires a secure fixing to a joist or noggin rather than plasterboard alone — installation guidance is included with the fitting.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 150mm drop from ceiling to base makes the Edison suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, where traditional pendants would hang too low and reduce usable headroom.

What bulbs does it take?

The Edison takes nine G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each, sold separately. Most users fit LED G9 bulbs between 3W and 5W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient lighting. Dimmable G9 LEDs are required if pairing with a dimmer switch.

Can it be installed on a plasterboard ceiling?

At 4.8kg the Edison requires a secure fixing point. The ceiling rose must be fixed to a joist or noggin rather than plasterboard alone. If the existing ceiling rose is fixed only to plasterboard, additional support will need to be installed before fitting.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe crystal strands gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the crystals and do not use household sprays or polishes.
