Edison 4 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Edison is a 310mm square flush ceiling light with four G9 bulb fittings set behind multiple strands of Asfour crystal, suspended from a polished chrome frame. The square crystal cage sits approximately 150mm deep from the ceiling, with shorter crystal droplets at the outer edges graduating to longer strands towards the centre, creating a layered curtain effect when lit. The polished chrome backplate and frame reflect light back through the crystal, amplifying the sparkle from the four bulbs.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a traditional pendant would hang too far into the space, the Edison provides decorative lighting without the drop length of a suspension fitting. The 310mm footprint suits entrance halls, bedrooms, compact dining areas and landing ceilings where a centrepiece fitting is needed but vertical clearance is limited. The four G9 bulbs distribute light evenly across the crystal structure rather than concentrating it in one zone, giving ambient room light rather than focused task light.

Each crystal strand is facet-cut Asfour crystal from Egypt, known for higher lead content and sharper faceting than standard K9 crystal, which produces more defined light refraction when the bulbs are on. The polished chrome finish on the frame and backplate gives a mirror-bright surface that pairs with modern and contemporary interiors, particularly those using cooler metal tones elsewhere in the room. At 2.8kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or rated mounting point rather than direct plasterboard fixing.

What bulbs does it take?

The Edison takes four G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs in the 2W-4W range at 2700K-3000K warm white for living spaces, giving the equivalent of 20-40W halogen brightness at lower running cost.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if fitted with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and paired with a compatible LED dimmer switch. Not all G9 LEDs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before purchasing if dimming is required.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 150mm projection from ceiling to base of crystal droplets works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower rooms the crystal may sit closer to head height when standing directly beneath the fitting.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each crystal strand with a dry microfibre cloth. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the metal frame or getting water into the bulb sockets. Do not use glass cleaner sprays near the electrical components.
