Description

The Edge-3 is a 200mm diameter pendant light built from curved birch wood slats arranged vertically around a single E27 bulb fitting. The slats create an open cage structure that allows light to escape through the gaps while the wood itself softens and warms the light output. The natural birch finish shows visible grain and tonal variation between slats, giving each pendant a slightly different appearance.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars where soft downward task light is needed without blocking sightlines across the room, the Edge-3 works individually over small tables or in runs of two or three over longer surfaces. The 2000mm cable allows the pendant to be set 600-900mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The open base directs most light downward while the slat gaps provide ambient wash onto surrounding walls.

The birch slats are laser-cut and bent into the bulbous profile, then assembled onto metal rings at the top and base. The natural wood finish ages over time, darkening slightly under UV exposure and developing a patina where handled during installation. The 275mm overall height keeps the pendant compact enough for standard 2.4m ceiling heights without feeling oversized. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas away from bathrooms and wet rooms.
