Description

The Eden is a 90mm square recessed downlight with a clear cut crystal glass surround that refracts light around the ceiling aperture while the central GU10 bulb (sold separately) provides the main downward beam. The fitting sits flush to the ceiling once installed, projecting 37mm into the ceiling void, with the crystal glass surround visible at ceiling level and a mirrored reflector directing light downwards.

Designed for residential ceiling installation in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens, the Eden requires a minimum 40mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the fitting body. The fixed direction means the bulb points straight down rather than being adjustable, so positioning on the ceiling plan determines where the light falls. Multiple Edens can be spaced at 1.2-1.5m centres to provide even general lighting across a room, or positioned over specific areas like kitchen worktops or hallway runs.

The cut crystal glass surround catches and reflects ambient light during the day when the fitting is off, acting as a decorative ceiling detail rather than disappearing like plain downlights. When lit, the crystal edges create small refraction patterns on the ceiling around the aperture while the GU10 bulb provides the functional task or ambient light below. The IP20 rating limits the Eden to dry indoor areas — it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor soffits.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does it take and is it included?

The Eden takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W halogen or LED equivalent. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W LED GU10 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for general room lighting.

Is the light direction adjustable?

No. The Eden is a fixed-direction downlight, meaning the bulb points straight down and cannot be tilted or rotated once installed. Positioning on the ceiling plan determines where the light falls.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

A minimum 40mm ceiling void depth is required to accommodate the 37mm fitting body plus clearance. Shallower voids cannot accommodate this downlight.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Eden is designed for dry indoor areas only and is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor soffits where moisture is present.
