Description

The Eden Large is a 55cm flush ceiling light built around a drum shade covered in natural nacre shell, set within a gold leaf metal frame with polished brass and black lacquer accents. Three E27 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the drum, casting light through the translucent shell to create a soft, warm glow with the natural lustre of mother-of-pearl.

Designed for living rooms, master bedrooms and entrance halls with standard ceiling heights, the Eden mounts directly to the ceiling via a base plate and maintains a 40cm projection from ceiling to base. The nacre shell covering is applied in hand-cut pieces, so the exact pattern and tonal variation differ between individual fittings. The base diffuser conceals the bulbs from below and gives the fitting a clean, finished appearance when viewed from underneath.

The gold leaf finish on the metal frame is applied by hand and pairs with polished brass details and thin black lacquer lines that define the upper and lower edges of the drum. At 3.77kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or ceiling plate rated for the weight. The IP20 rating limits it to dry indoor use only.

What bulbs does it take?

The Eden takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 20W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the warm tone of the gold leaf and nacre shell.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The fitting projects 40cm from the ceiling, making it suitable for standard ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In rooms with lower ceilings the fitting may feel visually dominant, but the flush mount means it does not hang down like a pendant.

Does the nacre shell vary between fittings?

Yes. The nacre shell is applied in hand-cut pieces, so the exact pattern, tonal variation and lustre differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural material, not a defect.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Eden to dry indoor use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens with heavy steam, or any damp or outdoor locations.
