Description

The Ecliptus is a 30W constant voltage LED driver that converts mains voltage to a stable 24V DC output for LED strips, under-cabinet lighting and other low-voltage LED fixtures. The driver outputs a fixed voltage regardless of load fluctuations, making it suitable for parallel-wired LED installations where multiple strips or fittings share a single power supply.

Designed for indoor residential and light commercial installations, the driver fits into ceiling voids, cabinet plinths, and other concealed locations with its 140mm x 45mm housing. The IP20 rating confines use to dry, indoor environments only — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or any location with moisture exposure. The non-dimmable output means it pairs with standard on/off switching, not dimmer circuits.

The white plastic housing includes ribbed cooling fins on the top surface to dissipate heat passively during operation, and green end caps house the input and output terminals. Input accepts 220-240V AC mains; output delivers 24V DC at up to 1.25A continuous current. The driver carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux and CE marking for European safety compliance.

Can this driver be used with dimmable LED strips?

No. The Ecliptus outputs a fixed 24V DC voltage with no dimming capability. If you need dimmable output, look for a PWM-dimmable or 0-10V dimmable driver rated for 24V.

How many metres of LED strip can this power?

That depends on the wattage per metre of your LED strip. The driver outputs 30W maximum, so a 10W/m strip can run 3 metres, a 15W/m strip can run 2 metres. Check your strip's specification and do not exceed the driver's 30W total load.

Where can this driver be installed?

The IP20 rating restricts installation to dry indoor locations only. Suitable for ceiling voids, under kitchen cabinets, behind furniture or inside wardrobes. Not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor locations or anywhere moisture or condensation is present.

Does it need ventilation space around it?

Yes. The driver dissipates heat through the ribbed housing during operation. Leave at least 20mm clearance on all sides and avoid burying it in insulation or tightly packed spaces where air cannot circulate.
