Description

The Ecliptus is a 60W constant voltage LED driver designed to power 24V LED strip lighting and other low-voltage LED installations. The unit outputs a stable 24V DC from 220-240V AC mains input, providing consistent power to LED strips up to 60W total load. Non-dimmable output makes it suited to installations where fixed brightness is required.

Designed for residential under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting in commercial spaces, and retail display installations where LED strip runs need reliable constant voltage power. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only — the driver is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or anywhere exposed to moisture. The 186mm x 50mm x 30mm housing fits into ceiling voids, behind cabinetry, and other concealed locations where mains-to-low-voltage conversion is needed close to the LED load.

The white plastic housing incorporates vertical cooling fins across the top surface to dissipate heat during continuous operation. Green plastic end caps house the input and output terminals, with screw terminals accepting stranded or solid core cable. The driver includes overcurrent, overvoltage and short-circuit protection to prevent damage to connected LEDs during fault conditions. Ideal Lux backs the driver with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

Can this driver be used with dimmable LED strips?

No. The Ecliptus outputs non-dimmable constant voltage. If you need dimming, you would require a separate PWM dimmer module between this driver and the LED strip, or a dimmable constant voltage driver instead.

What length of 24V LED strip can it power?

This depends on the wattage per metre of your LED strip. For a typical 14.4W/m strip, the 60W driver can power approximately 4 metres. For a 4.8W/m strip, it can power up to 12 metres. Check your strip specification and keep total load under 60W.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver offers no protection against moisture and must be installed in dry indoor locations only. For bathroom installations, you need an IP44 or IP65 rated driver positioned outside bathroom zones.

What protection features does it include?

The driver includes overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection and short-circuit protection. These safeguards shut down the output during fault conditions to prevent damage to connected LED strips and the driver itself.
