Description

The Ecliptus is a 150W constant voltage LED driver designed for 24V LED tape, strip lighting, panel arrays and modular LED systems. It accepts 220-240V mains input and outputs a regulated 24V DC at up to 6.25A, with dual dimming control via DALI protocol or push-button dimmer input. The driver measures 273mm long by 57mm wide and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor installation.

Designed for residential, retail and hospitality projects where medium-output 24V LED runs are needed with dimming control, the Ecliptus fits into ceiling voids, cabinet plinths, architrave channels and behind coving where there is sufficient ventilation for IP20-rated electronics. The DALI input allows integration into building management systems and multi-zone lighting control setups, while the push-button input provides simple local dimming without requiring a separate control protocol.

The white plastic housing carries CE and RoHS certification visible on the label, and Ideal Lux backs the driver with a 5-year warranty covering component failure under normal operating conditions. The 273mm length sits between compact single-output drivers and larger modular power supplies, making it well-suited to under-cabinet runs, perimeter coving in rooms up to 20-25m², and retail display lighting where a single driver can power multiple sections of 24V tape from a central point.

Frequently Asked

What does DALI dimming mean?

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a two-way communication protocol that allows building management systems and multi-zone lighting controllers to dim and address individual drivers or groups of drivers on the same circuit. This driver also accepts standard push-button dimmer input if DALI control is not required.

What is the maximum LED load?

The driver outputs 24V DC at up to 150W, which equates to a maximum current of 6.25A. Total connected LED load (tape, strips, panels) must not exceed this 150W rating. For safety margin, design installations to draw 80-90% of maximum capacity under normal operation.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver has no protection against moisture or dust ingress and must be installed in dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms or outdoor LED installations, use an IP65 or IP67 rated driver instead.

What installation clearances are needed?

The driver requires ventilation clearance on all sides for heat dissipation. Allow at least 30mm air gap above and below the housing, and do not enclose it in sealed compartments or bury it in insulation. The housing will reach 50-60°C under full load, so ensure adjacent materials can tolerate this temperature.

Free worldwide delivery

Free worldwide delivery on all orders over £99. International orders for third-party brand products may be subject to an additional courier surcharge based on volumetric weight, particularly on larger lighting fixtures — if a surcharge applies, our team will email you with the amount before dispatch and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund. See full delivery terms.

Returns

30-day returns window from delivery. As all our products are electrical or lighting goods, returned items must be inspected and recertified by a qualified electrician before resale — the cost of this inspection (25–40% of the item value) is deducted from your refund. Customers pay return shipping. Made-to-order, special-order and clearance items cannot be returned. See full returns policy.
